Zygi Kamala’s True Brit Entertainment has bought UK rights to Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture company’s The Death of Robin Hood, which is set to star Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer. The accession, brokered by WME Independent, was lined up at the Cannes request where A24 took domestic rights. As we revealed heading into the request, the dark reimagining of the classic story will see Robin Hood scuffling with his lot after a life of crime and murder and map how a mysterious woman offers him a chance of deliverance. Michael Sarnoski is directing with product due to start in February or March 2025. The film is anticipated to be shot in the UK, qualifying it as at least incompletely British, and therefore a fit for True Brit, which specializes in British systems.
Lyrical Media is completely financing the film. Oscar designee Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett will produce under their Ryder Picture Company banner alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media. Lyrical’s Jon Rosenberg and Natalie merchandisers will superintendent-yield with Rama Gottumukkala, Michael Sarnoski, and Hugh Jackman.
